Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health care to patients within a detox facility. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage medications for patients with mental health disorders
- Provide therapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with medical office standards
- Utilize electronic health record systems for documentation and communication
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a behavioral health and substance abuse setting is preferred
- Familiarity with utilization management processes and procedures
- Experience in occupational health or working with diverse populations is a plus
- Experience working with children and adolescents is highly desirable
- Proficiency in airway management techniques and ICU experience is beneficial
- Ability to administer injections as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New Mexico
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
