Job Summary/Description: WPTA, 21Alive, Fort Wayne's News Leader, is seeking a passionate newsroom leader to anchor our weekday morning newscasts. You'll join a team that is committed to providing viewers with an engaging and energetic newscast to help them start their day. Our anchors are involved in our community beyond the desk. They have a passion for connecting with our audience and telling compelling stories. The ideal candidate conducts insightful interviews, covers breaking news as it happens, and has creative ideas on how to contribute on digital platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Anchor weekday morning newscasts
- Maintain a strong list of contacts to help break news
- Help lead a morning team dedicated to a loyal audience
- Develop a "digital first" mindset to creatively share content on multiple platforms
Qualifications/Requirements: - Previous reporting and anchor experience
- Comfortable delivery and the ability to connect with the audience
- Strong writing skills
- Strong understanding of digital media
- Four-year college degree
