Job Summary:

As a Full-time Virtual BYS Teacher Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting and guiding educators in their teaching journey. You will provide mentorship, instructional support, and facilitate professional development activities to enhance teachers' instructional skills and promote their professional growth. Your expertise in teaching, instructional strategies, and technology integration will contribute to the success of teachers in delivering high-quality education early in their careers.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a virtual mentor and provide ongoing support to teachers, offering guidance, feedback, and resources to help them improve their instructional practices and enhance student learning experiences.
• Conduct regular virtual meetings with teachers to discuss their instructional goals, challenges, and progress, providing constructive feedback and strategies for improvement.
• Facilitate virtual professional development sessions and workshops on topics related to teaching strategies, technology integration, assessment practices, classroom management techniques, “Behind the Scenes” topics, Social Emotional Learning, and tips for improving overall school climate. 
• Stay updated with current trends, research, and best practices in education, instructional design, and emerging technologies to inform and improve professional development initiatives.
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective virtual lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with curriculum standards and promote student engagement.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of professional development activities and make recommendations for improvements based on feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive virtual community among teachers, encouraging the sharing of ideas, resources, and best practices.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a repository of teaching resources, including lesson plans, instructional videos, vlogs, help guides, and online learning materials.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
• Previous experience as a mentor teacher or instructional coach.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. (10+ years preferred)
• Experience teaching during and/or post Covid.
• Strong knowledge of teaching methodologies, instructional strategies, and technology integration in learning environments.
• Familiarity with learning management systems, video conferencing tools, and educational technology platforms commonly used in classrooms.
